Deze opname komt uit een uniek live benefietconcert op 24 juni 2019, waarbij Sondheim zich aansloot bij Brown tijdens diens 50e SubCulture Residency in Town Hall, New York. De opbrengst van het concert kwam ten goede aan de Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. Naast Sondheim en Brown traden ook speciale gasten zoals Lin-Manuel Miranda, Katrina Lenk, Shoshana Bean, Joshua Henry, Rob McClure op met een orkest van 16 muzikanten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Brown, die meerdere keren heeft uitgesproken hoeveel hij Sondheim als mentor bewondert, maakte van dit concert een eerbetoon aan Sondheim\u2019s invloed op zijn eigen carri\u00e8re. \u00a0Sondheim zingt zelf \u201cGood Thing Going\u201d uit Merrily We Roll Along.<\/em> Andere nummers zijn onder andere \u201cMove On\u201d en \u201cChildren and Art\u201d uit Sunday in the Park with George<\/em>.
